SX6036 Console Locked and Factory Reset Disabled?

Hello, I am reaching out here to see if anybody has advice on how to wipe my Mellanox switch back to default credentials/configuration.

For context: I bought this switch second-hand from a seller who takes goods that would normally go to salvage, so they do not have any passwords or information on this switch either.

I have tried the classic push the RST button for 15+ seconds to no avail. I tried it when it was booting up, when it was booted up, when it was completely off with no power, with cords and without, and every combination thereof and it booted straight into the same config each time with a hostname and nondefault credentials.

I went to go the CTRL+B while booting method so I could use the console to wipe it and was hit with this fun message:

Mellanox MLNX-OS Boot Menu:

   1: SX_PPC_M460EX SX_3.3.4402 2014-02-28 14:29:47 ppc
*  2: SX_PPC_M460EX SX_3.4.0010 2014-11-20 18:47:19 ppc
u: USB menu (if USB device connected) (password required)
   c: Command prompt (password required)

   Choice:

I tried all default passwords I could find again here with no luck. Both firmware images installed went to the same “mnemosyne-ibsw login:”

Attached here is the entire boot process without any funky CTRL+B stuff. Desperate for any way to go about this.

Can you try to use admin/admin?

Thanks,
Suo

admin/admin has been tried, hence me specifying it is not the default credentials. Additionally I have also tried logging in as xmladmin, in that case the switch does not ask for a password but just hangs.

Hi,
Please press the reset button for more than 30 seconds, then try using the username “admin” with the password “admin”, or try using “admin” with no password.

If it still doesn’t work, I think there’s nothing else we can do here.
Thanks,
Suo
