TX1 freeze during boot

I am running Jetson L4T 23.1 Ubuntu 14.0.4 On boot, the boot process freezes. To recover, I power off, wait 10 minutes or so and then it may boot the next time. Attached is Serial console log. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, it is very late in my project and switching OS would not be trivial. Has anyone else seen this error and had a fix?

It would probably help to know if there were any kernel modifications (such as additional modules or device tree edits).

We have attributed this to temperature. If the unit is at ambient temperature then we do not see the problem.

Hi LAlliss, Do you mean this will not happen in room temperature? What’s the environment temperature when it happened?

Did you check the current flow into system? If it is abnormal high, there could be components or pins short to ground.

Trumany: If we let the box cool down slightly then the system boots. I don’t know what the internal temperature of the system is when it fails. I will have the hardware engr check the current.

We are also seeing this same issue using L4T 23.2 on the TX1, kernel version 3.10.67-g458d45c. We also only have this issue after the system has been running (and is hotter than room temp).

@Trumany, is there a threshold in the bootloader that halts boot if a certain temp is exceeded?
