TX2 BootRom is not running issue

Currently I am using an Elroy board to communicate via USB-USB from the TX2 to my host machine which is running ubuntu 18.

I have tried following the connect tech instructions ( ./flash.sh cti/tx2/elroy-revF+ mmcblk0p1) , I have tried doing the most basic flash of L4T by building out the kernel ect., and just about everything in-between. I even tried using USB3 vs USB2 since a post referenced that, even though it was talking about VM’s and I am not using a VM.

No matter I keep getting stuck at a single point, BootRom is not running. I have posted the full output of what is being printed out but I believe that the issue is from the BootRom, yet I am not sure how to confirm that. Is this something I am doing wrong/can fix or do I just need to get a new TX2 and try again?

Full flash.sh output

Yes ma’am, I have been talking with someone from your support team and have solved a few other issues with his help.

I figured I would post this issue here as well, however, since the more I have probed into the issue the more it seems related to the TX2 more so than the Elroy. I am far from an expert though so I could be way off base.

I can close this post and continue to work with you guys directly, if you wish.

How did you resolve this issue? I am getting the same output.

Honestly I was never able to resolve the issue in a meaningful way. After a few back and forth with several people I ended up getting a different computer and putting a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04. On that computer everything worked as I would have expected. Had it up and working in a matter of an hour give or take. So if you want to count the brute force hammer approach as a “resolve” then yes, yes I did. Not an intelligent solution though.

Thank you. I resolved this by switching to a native installation of Ubuntu (18.04 server) instead of a virtual machine with USB passthrough.
