I have been trying to install CUDA on my laptop which has the graphics card “nVIDIA GeForce 9300m GS” installed on it. My system runs on XP
I have got the message, " nVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers for the hardware installed on the system…setup will now exit".
the latest drivers for the graphics card from the lenovo site are already installed. From the forums, i have installed the latest drivers (181.00) from “laptopvideo2go.com”. Got the same message.
Can anybody help me in installing CUDA on my laptop successfully. I was unable to install 2.1 beta & 2.0 versions of CUDA. will it work with CUDA 1.1 ?
Hi
Please someone Send information to my Email. That NVIDIA GeForce 9300 GS Supports Cuda or Note.
I Couldn’t find any CUDA information in my PC Graphics Please Help me.
Thanks.
I assume you mean NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS, a device with compute capability 1.1. CUDA 6.5 was the last version that supported sm_11 devices like the GeForce 9300 GS. The current CUDA version is CUDA 8.0. Note that the graphics drivers shipping for the past three years have likewise dropped support for sm_11 devices.
Since notebooks / laptops can be a bit iffy in the first place (some cannot use NVIDIA’s generic driver and require a vendor-modified driver), I doubt it makes sense to dig out old software from NVIDIA’s driver archive to try to get CUDA to run on this massively outdated hardware platform.
At this time, I would suggest starting with CUDA using a GPU with at least compute capability 3.0 (sm_30).
