Hello,

Instead of of using a USB-C HW port, or even a USB3 HW port, can we just route the Xavier USB0 DP/DN interface to a simple USB2 HW port and still have the flashing functional?

Sure, USB0 port can be used separately.

so we go for a simple USB2 HW port interfaced with the SOM USBO DP/DP on our carrier board.
