- When will the Nvidia Web Drivers be released for macOS Mojave 10.14 -

same mendozal – which card are you using?

Good Morning,

I’m just adding my name to the mix so that you can see how many customers are out in the wild that need drivers for Mojave.

I am in the market to upgrade to a 2080 TI for my egpu setup, and won’t make that investment until I know that a path forward for OSX is available.

Keep up the great work, and please develop Mojave drivers ASAP.

Thanks,

I’d love to see some real world benchmarks for the 2080ti versus the 1080ti.

I have a Titan X Pascal.
I was looking for reviews and benchmarks and didn’t find any AMD cards with the same performance as mine.
Even the Vega Frontier Edition is a little behind in real life peformance.

So I have a MacPro, 5,1 running a 1080TI. I upgraded to Mojave… The biggest mistake I made!!!

My computer does not work now and going back to HS seem difficult as the high Sierra installer says it “can’t run on my system”
I assume because of the firmware update.
I purchase a Radeon RX 580 GTS to use my computer now, It’s so slow, as I wait on the Mojave update.

Okay, guys don’t bash me too much I’m already paying financially and with productivity. I’m not super techy but learned my lesson. I upgraded without doing my research. I would love to go back to High Sierra but my computer can’t even start up in recovery mode with the new video card. I hope this new update comes soon So I can send back the RX 580.

No bashing necessary. We are all in the same boat.

As a rule of thumb, it’s best to wait at least a month for major updates like this, especially for the Mac OS. Even major applications like the new Creative Cloud 2019 it’s probably best to wait at least two (2) weeks just to be sure.

I’m a Mac consultant, so I have to install everything as it comes out to find out these kinds of problems and then let my customers know whether the update is ready for daily production and activity.

Right now, outside of this nVidia issue, Mojave has been pretty solid. However, if you require nVidia, this update is crippling.

I’m downgrading to high Sierra because DaVinci resolve is too slow in metal without CUDA drivers. I’m using k5000 on Mac Pro.

Did you try openCL as well?

I honestly did not even take it into consideration. are you sure of your advice? I’m trying btw

CUDA is definitely better but before downgrading you could test it.

Can’t they release beta drivers or are they waiting for Apple to sign the drivers because Apple wants to screw Nvidia over? Either way this is making me want to switch to the red team AMD if Nvidia doesn’t find a way to get their drivers signed. I mean weren’t they working on Nvidia drivers in the beta phase or did they really wait until the official release of Mojave to wait? How long did it take for them to sign drivers for High Sierra? Didn’t that take a couple months? Why does Nvidia users always get screwed? We pay a little more for quality graphics cards and we get kicked in the balls having to wait longer than AMD users. It just sucks upgrading to Mojave and not to have any acceleration. And yes I have seriously thought about down grading and becoming an AMD user even if it costs me in video games.

For me, I loved the power of the Titan X under El Cap and Sierra. Then High Sierra something happened where no matter what I did renders would crash on anything with open cl. Cuda was not preforming like it did before and I thought ok drivers will come… Nvida has always fixed things… a year later and I just cant wait. Had to make the switch to get projects out. I would have rather spent the 600 bucks on a Titan xP or V but without suport thats just asking trouble that I cant afford anymore.
I’m still hopeful they will make things right. Maybe unlock some things on the titan cards, not just on Pascal or newer but on the older Maxwell and Keps as well.

Wishful thinking I know.

Friendly reminder. Please remember to go to the top of this pate and cast your vote. Thank you!

Honestly i’m gaming less and less now a days. I’m tempted to go to the red team even tho I know the green team makes the better cards overall. I just don’t like this bs. I can’t even stand how Windows 10 looks. It’s one of the reasons I run Mac OSX. Windows 10 is an ugly tablet looking operating system and even after I use software to make Windows 10 look more like Windows 7 it’s still ugly on the eyes to me. I think Mojave OSX did a much better job with the black theme than Windows 10 did. And again I can’t stand that tile look on Windows 10 and had to use free software to make it look more like Windows 7. Truth be said I can’t even browse anyone’s computer with Windows 10 on it because it’s difficult for me because they have some odd strange looking tile look. I have no idea what the heck Microsoft is doing with their operating system. I mean I understand that wanted to make a hybrid desktop operating system that also worked on tablets but it backfired in my opinion because it makes Windows now feel really ugly and sloppy looking. I think the word I might be looking for is a congested feel if that makes sense.

News for release?

Proprio niente Attilio.

They should have been at work with Nvidia Drivers when Mojave was beta testing all those months ago. Yes people are pissed because they see and hear how AMD cards work while Nvidia do not. I think people have the right to be pissed. Nvidia and Apple need to be working together better than this. They have such a strained relationship and it feels like it’s Apple that wears the pants. People here are paranoid of support being dropped by Nvidia because there have been rumors that Nvidia and Apple have not been getting along with each other. I did ask the other day to customer support if Drivers were gonna be released for Mojave and they said yes but who’s to know if I’m not being lied to or not. Does customer support really know whats going on?

Va via una mezza giornata di lavoro. Un disastro!
Haha
Più tardi aggiorno

Wait, when I do encoding with Handbrake or any mac software you’re telling me that’s being done through Nvidia? i thought it was my cpu or depends on the software? Which software supports GPU encoding?
