Why OpitX lib is named optix.1.lib?

This is just a curiosity but I was wonder why OptiX use the suffix ‘1’ in the DLL’s and lib files.

Usually, on Linux, as far as I know, it’s the version number of binary compatibility.

But in the case of optix I’m not so sure if one could replace 1.0.0 DLLs with 3.5.0 ones with the app still running. Might be laziness of the developers to increase the number.
