Will the TX2 be officially updated to the latest Jetpack / Ubuntu 18.04 LTS?

According to this guide it’s somewhat simple to make the latest Jetpack for Jetson Xavier work with TX2: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1043896/jetson-tx2/-guide-how-to-install-ubuntu-18-04-on-tx2/

Providing official support for the latest Ubuntu LTS would be a great for those of us who are trying to setup a more up to date development stack (ROS Melodic, etc)

Does nVidia plan to officially support the TX2 further? Or should the community make an effort to provide an unofficial process / scripts for installing the Xavier Jetpack on TX2?

We do plan to have TX2 migrate on Ubuntu 18.04 as Xavier, however I can’t disclose the details of the release schedule, but in coming months.
