Xavier has had Ubuntu 18.04 with CUDA 10.0 and CuDNN 7.3 for 4 months!
Ubuntu 18.04 LTS on x86_64 supports CUDA 10.1 and CuDNN 7.5 for practically every other NVIDIA product.
Come on NVIDIA step up and stop wasting our time. Release an update for TX2. Even a preview release would be more welcome than nothing.
Hi superstructor, we are planning to release the update by the end of the month. Thanks for your patience as we finish the preparations.
The update will include Ubuntu 18.04 support for TX2. In the meantime, some community members have been able to install 18.04 to TX2 here: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1043896/jetson-tx2/-guide-how-to-install-ubuntu-18-04-on-tx2/
Awesome that is good news! Thanks for all your hard work.
Any news for Ubuntu 18.04 support? Thanks
L4T R32.1 can be installed via SDK Manager (replaces JetPack) for Jetson Nano, TX2, or Xavier. This is Ubuntu 18.04. I forget the exact release date, but this was about one or two weeks ago. See:
Installer: https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/dlc/nv-sdk-manager
Instructions 1 (Download/Run): http://docs.nvidia.com/sdk-manager/download-run-sdkm/index.html
Instructions 2 (Install Software to Jetson):http://docs.nvidia.com/sdk-manager/install-with-sdkm-jetson/index.html
Thank you so much! I just got TX2 yesterday and realized I have to flash it first instead of using it directly.
Ubuntu 18.04 installed via SDK manager works well so far on TX2. Good job NVIDIA.
