Will these specs be enough for Isaac Sim / Lab RL Training?

Hello everyone,

I am considering buying a laptop and I would like to know if these specifications will be sufficient for my work on Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab.

I won’t be doing extremely heavy simulations, but I will be training a quadruped using reinforcement learning (RL).

Here are the specs of the laptop I’m looking at:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-12650H (up to 4.7 GHz, 24MB cache)

  • RAM: 32 GB

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, 8 GB VRAM

Do you think this laptop would be enough for this type of workload, or should I consider something more powerful?

Thank you for your advice!

Thank you for your interest in Isaac Lab. To ensure efficient support and collaboration, please submit your topic to its GitHub repo following the instructions provided on Isaac Lab’s Contributing Guidelines regarding discussions, submitting issues, feature requests, and contributing to the project.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to assisting you.

You would be better off with like a 3080 with 16 GB V-RAM. This kind of training is V-RAM hungry.
