Windows 11 Freezing Unless NVIDIA 840M GPU is Disabled on Acer Aspire E5‑571G

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a serious issue with my Acer Aspire E5-571G laptop running Windows 11.
Here are my specs:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4210U
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 840M (2GB)
  • RAM: 12 GB DDR3
  • Storage: 256 GB SSD
  • OS: Windows 11 64-bit

Problem:

Whenever I enable the NVIDIA 840M, the system freezes a few seconds after startup or during normal use. The only workaround I found is disabling the NVIDIA GPU from Device Manager — after that, the laptop works fine using the integrated Intel HD graphics.
