X230D + Jetson AGX Orin 32 GB not booting up

My X230D carrier board + Jetson Orin AGX 32 GB module are not booting up anymore.
It has been sitting in the box for a while, it has worked fine before but recently I wanted to be busy with my AI things and found my board + AGX module are not booting up anymore.

Symptoms:

  • Board goes on for 1 seconds and powers down.
  • Fan spins up for a second and quiets down.
  • Red led goes on, goes off for a second and then when the board powers down, the red light stays on.
  • Voltage test pins (1.0v, 1.8v, 3.3v, 5.0v, 12v) stay on for 1 second, then become 0v.
  • Voltage test pins of standby voltages (3.3v A0 and 5.0v A0) stay on.
  • Linux finds the APX Nvidia usb device for 1 second, then APX is disconnected.

What I tried:

  • Booting the board with 12v5a adapter and 19v 4.75A laptop adapter.
  • Booting the board with micro usb cable connected to PC, to force the board into force rec mode.
  • Powering up the board while having force rec pads on carrier board connected
  • Connected my USB UART device to the X230D uart connector.
    the output is “00 00” in that 1 second that the board is powered on, before it automatically shuts down.
  • Connected my USB UART device to the X230D mcu_uart connector.
    there is no output.
  • Measured for shortage between pins of connectors and GND, and between the voltage test points and GND, both with Jetson AGX 32 GB connected and disconnected, no shorts have been found.
  • Removed the nvme ssd from the carrier board, and tried booting again.
  • Tried booting it without microusb connect to PC, but the device still automatically shuts down after a second.
  • Tried inspect the 699 pin connectors on X230D board and AGX Orin module, pins look fine.
  • Tried inspect the X230D board with magnifier glass to inspect for optically recognizable damage, none is seen.
  • Tried to contact Auvidea customer support, but they are not very helpful.

Because the Nvidia APX is only recognized in Linux (also in Windows) for only a second, it doesn’t stay up long enough for me to do a reflash. Neither sdkmanager or the Auvidea custom flash procedure works, because it can’t connect to the APX.

Does anyone know what’s going on, or have advice to solve this?
