Xavier nx flash error: return -8

I used a piece of Xavier NX 8G module to use SDKmanager software to flash system on the DEVKIT carrier, but failed. The following is the log of using SDKmanager.

The flash.sh script also fails to flash the system. Here is the corresponding log.

Other modules in the same batch can run normally on my DEVKIT carrier board, but this one can’t. Is there a good solution?

Hi chen.xi,

Are you using Xavier NX devkit from NVIDIA like this?

I saw some error messages in your SDKM log.

01:01:02.015 - error: cannot get component by id NV_CUDA_HOST_COMP@host
01:01:02.015 - error: cannot get component by id NV_CUDA_CROSS_HOST_COMP@host
...

Are you using standalone Ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04 as your host PC?

Do you mean that only one Xavier NX module could not flash successfully with the same procedure as others?

We used an emmc stored NX module, not a module with an SD card slot.

Both versions of the host are available

Yeah, it’s the only one we’ve seen so far.

Yes, there are two types of Xaver NX devkit (eMMC & SD Card).

If there’s only one module would hit the issue, we would suggest to RMA the problematic module.

As much as I hate to mention it, I seem to have run into another module with the same problem, and it was just unwrapped.

And please help me analyze it again.

@chen.xi please flash your module with jp5.1 +devkit first. If it is also not working, please share me the uart log during flash.
