Yet another eGPU post

So I can’t seem to get my eGPU to work with a dell precision 5560. So far I’ve tried it on kubuntu and now manjaro.

This is the output of "lspci -k | grep -A 2 -E “(NVIDIA)”:

0000:3c:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GA104 [GeForce RTX 3070] (rev a1)
Subsystem: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd Device 404c
        Kernel driver in use: nvidia

0000:3c:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation GA104 High Definition Audio Controller (rev a1)
Subsystem: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd Device 404c
        Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel

I’m running kernel 5.15.55, and the hardware section of system settings says I’m using video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime. I only want it for CUDA compute, it’s a core x chroma with a 3070 inside and works on the windows OS for same laptop.

I get these in journal-ctl:

NVRM: GPU 0000:3c:00.0: RmInitAdapter failed! (0x26:0x56:1440)
NVRM: GPU 0000:3c:00.0: rm_init_adapter failed, device minor number 0

and I’ll attach the nvidia bug report here. Any help is highly appreciated.

Please check for a bios update, try enabling virtualization options in bios, try using the opensource modules.
