The Jetson AGX Xavier Series Thermal Design Guide states that SYS_VIN_HV can be between 9 to 19V, where 9V is preferred due to better thermal performance. Is there any data which states how much the input voltage affects the thermal output of the module?
No such data. Basically the lower input voltage means better efficiency of voltage converter.
We are very challenged thermally and every degree counts. Is it worth adding a buck converter in our design to take the input voltage from 12 - 9V?
would we see any difference?
No experience on that. Better way is to optimize the thermal solution.
