AGXI boot slowly. It takes over 75 seconds to boot!

Platform: Jetpack 5.1.1 for the AGXI

Hi. I got six AGXI on our self-made board. Sometimes one of them boot slowly occasionally. we found this phenomenon 4 times in recent two month. the ambient temperature is 60 ℃ , it may influence the test result.

It seems like the cpu didn’t boot successfully at first.

the full kernel boot log is as follows:
AGX-boot-slow.txt (82.5 KB)

If you know anything about this ,please let me know.
Thanks.

Try if same issue would reproduce on NV devkit.

HI, WayneWWW:

No, It did not reproduce on NV devkit.

It is not easy to reproduce. Recent the same issue reproduce one time in the ambient temperature is 38 ℃. It also shows that the cpu1 boot error. and takes over 75 second to boot.

[ 72.024109] psci: failed to boot CPU1 (-22)
[ 72.024322] CPU1: failed to boot: -22

The left is normal log and the right is boot error log.

boot normal log is as follow:
boot normal.txt (67.8 KB)

boot slow and cpu error log:

Do you have any suggestions to check this issue according the two boot logs?

Hi,

Please upgrade the BSP to latest version.
I think that would resolve the CPU error.

Hi, WayneWWW
It involves a lot of things to do if we update the BSP. For now, the product had enter the final test. All the works are based on Jetpack 5.1.1. Once we update the BSP, we need to re-adapt the software code , algorithm model and so on. So we still hope to solve the problem on Jetpack 5.1.1.

BTW, this issue is not easy to reproduce on product, even we update the BSP , the issue won’t reproduce immediately we can not sure it solve the issue 100%.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

What possible reasons will cause this problem? such as voltage, temperature, Power-up timing?

Hi,

Just a clarification. For your boot slowly issue, we don’t know anything about it.

What you can do now is upgrade the BSP and see if the issue is still there. We don’t directly debug on old release.

Hi, WayneWWW
Are there any commands or debug ways to open or close cpu1 to cpu7 after agxi boot? when cpu1 boot error, I want to boot cpu1 mannually.

You can run jetson_clocks and it will make all the cpus online.
