Black screen + spinner on local network cloudXR installation / Quest Pro?

Hi folks,

Longtime CXR user here, but I’ve been out of the loop for a minute. Trying to test latest (4.0) on my local SteamVR-capable machine and running into [title]. I’m assuming some connection is successfully happening because without SteamVR running the app just exists - however, I’ve been pouring over the logs and am unable to diagnose the problem. Worth mentioning that my firewall is completely disabled (for the purposes of testing) - I doubt it’s a port issue. Attaching my server and client logs for your perusal - I’ve noticed several oblique errors a-la:

Failed to connect to server using RTSP handshake (error codes: 0X800B1004 0X800B1004)

(M)[2024-02-06 23:52:46,358]=15:52:46=*00000*{538964425072}<ClientSession> Failed to create RTSP connection with error 0X800B1004

But wasn’t sure what to make of them…

Thank you!

Update: resolved when connecting server to wired Ethernet. I have GB Ethernet with a good WiFi6 Router and speeds are well in the hundreds, but I guess the requirement to have at least one of the client/server connected to Ethernet was not just about speeds.

Unsolicited feedback to the CXR team: better error logging would have helped here. I found some errors about RTSP handshakes failing (see above) but nothing about connection speeds being nonviable etc, and I’d have never assumed that to be the bottleneck. Anyway, consider this resolved, thank you.

Hi – that’s actually strange as the network connection medium itself doesn’t matter. Clearly using a different NIC solved the issue, but however the server is connected shouldn’t matter.
