Until now, inserting the power plug or pressing the powerON button would turn on the red LED and the computer would start up normally, but after shutting down, inserting the power plug or pressing the powerON button did not turn on the LED or spin the fan, and it became unresponsive.
I tried connecting in recovery mode using a jumper wire, but since the power was not turned on, it was obviously not recognized by the host PC. Looking back at the operations up until that point, I did not do anything special, and I executed the sudo shutdown -h now command from an SSH session, and did not perform an inappropriate power off, so I have no idea what the cause might be.
As a side note, when the power plug is connected, the LAN port LED is lit (green and orange).
Question:
Is there anything that can be done to recover from this state?
Is it necessary to request a repair?
I don’t have any other 5.5mm barrel jacks, so I’ll buy a PD-compatible 5.5mm barrel jack to USBC later and check it out.
As for URAT, I don’t have a jumper to USB on hand, so I’ll check that out later as well.
Also, I understand that the Jetson Orin Nano does not support power startup via USB. I thought USB was only for data communication, but is there any way around it?
@proventusnova
I connected the jetson’s UART1_TXD (Pin 8), UART_RXD (Pin 10), and GND (Pin 6) to the USB to TTL Adapter and plugged in the power plug, but I got no signal.
I’ll check again after I get a jack that can be used to detect the signal.
Thanks for the update.
Sadly it does not sound very good.
Hopefully the new power adapter does the trick, but if that doesn’t help, we might need to start thinking about RMA the unit.
