Hello. I am testing with Xavier NX custom board - ASUS PE1000N. (FMI, refer to Manual)
I have a trouble adding new Samsung SSD(PM991) on its M.2 slot.
Problem:
- When I added the SSD and boot for the first time, it takes long times, the SSD’s temperature goes high, and kernel panic occurs. (Log is attached)
- After the initial boot, booting sequence seems fine and fast but I cannot show nothing on result from ‘lsblk’. (As it is supposed to show something like ‘nvme…’)
Here are what I tried to resolve:
- I installed the latest Jetpack 5.1.2 via SDK manager on internal eMMC.
- I tested the same process on 2 identical boards but the results are same.
- When I connected the SSD on my Windows desktop, it perfectly detects the SSD. (FYI, there are 5 identical SSDs and they are all detected well)
- I changed a format of the SSDs to ext4 in my Windows desktop and tried the same process but it wouldn’t help at all.
What’s more confusing here is that similar SSD named ‘PM991a’ worked fine in both devices. Their difference (PM991 vs. PM991a) is apparently subtle; PM991 is slightly more power-efficient with some performance trade-offs.
For debug, I attach serial console log that contains kernel panic related to Error in CBB-NOC.
Any help or advice would be helpful. Thanks.
