The Dell m1330 has the latest BIOS with no option to make any changes to the turbocache. I am unsure how long it has been this way, but I updated the memory on the laptop and noticed that available memory for the GPU was up on Windows to over 3GB and decided to check the Ubuntu 13.10 (kernel 3.11.0-15) partition. It only displays 128MB of memory and this information is confirmed in the x.org logs. The computer works just fine, but at times I want to use a VM or play a game and I get complaints about available video memory.
My questions: Is there a way to enable TurboCache? Is this a problem with the kernel, driver, or BIOS? Can I troubleshoot it?
