EDIDs not being read correctly 575.64.05 to 580.76.05

First time making a post to Nvidia. Unsure of what to include/exclude from the submitted bug report.

I am using a Geforce GTX 1080 ti with a dummy HDMI plug for a server. When I was on a Bazzite image that had the 575.64.05 driver, it worked perfectly. When I updated to an image with a newer driver, 580.76.05, the resolution choices became limited compared to what was available before. The dummy HDMI plug is capable of resolutions from 720p to 4k, but with the new drivers, resolutions around 1080p are not available.

People chimed in with their hardware: RTX 3060, RTX 3070, RTX 4070 and applied to VMs and monitors in addition to my use-case.

This is an example of the expected behavior. Resolutions from 720p, 1080p, 2k, and 4k are available.

Can confirm I’m having the exact same issue.

Also originally came across it on Bazzite, virtualised instance, with GPU passthrough [using Proxmox] and a dummy HDMI plug.

Also an issue on a test Ubuntu installation. I couldn’t install 575 (it kept installing 580), managed to get 535 to install, and that let me run 1080p, but, I’m having compatibility issues with apps/games that I’m trying to use the VM for, because 535 is not a compatible driver now!
