Hello!

Facial blendshape animations are not visible in Kit 106

Please see this:

In Composer I see the blendshapes, but in Kit 106 I do not see the
facial expressions on her forehead, eyebrows and mouth expressions.

I have blendshapes enables in preferences ( and booted after that )
I also have these extensions installed:

omni.anim.graph.core
omni.kit.window.extensions
omni.kit.browser.sample
omni.anim.graph.bundle
omni.anim.graph.ui
omni.anim.skelJoint

What should I do to get the blendshapes running in Kit 106 ?

Error Code:

I would stick with 2023.2.5 until you can fully move over to ACE. We are not well aligned for advanced character workflow with Blendshapes.

I believe for 106, FSD is enabled by default.
Double check if that is the case, and if it is enabled on Preferences > Rendering; then make sure to enable Use Hydra BlendShape under the Advanced Fabric Scene Delegate Settings.
You will need to reopen the scene after for this settings to take effect.

Wow! I believe this is it. Since discord’s user Hannah just opened the same scene and sent me a video. She can see the blendshapes on lit 106 đŸ’ȘđŸ»

If I activate the Advanced Fabric Scene Delegate Settings
I can see the character loads in with blendshapes activated on her face.

But when I press play, it crashes.

I tried with launching both with -d and without it.

Also there is a user on discord called Hannah and she can open this same scene on Kit 106 !!!

I updated to Drivers: Production Branch 572.83
But still it charsh on Kit 106 when I press play on timeline or even drag the cursor on timeline. I can move the camera around..

What are the tools for me to see all her settings and extensions with the Kit 106 ?

On top of the Advanced fabrix scene.. option ON
I have also installed these extension as autoload for my Kit 106:

Ok the crash you are getting is 99% SURE it is the FSD Hydra Blendshapes!! So with FSD off, it does not crash. With FSD on, it does not crash either. Both off and on, the blendshapes in the face do not work. However, if you turn on Hydra Blendshapes, the facial animation shows up but it hard crashes everytime. We shall be investigating this asap.

Bottom line is we seem to have broken Blend Shapes in everything kit 106 and kit 107 as far as I can tell. I will get back to you. Everything should work fine in 2023.2.5

KIT 106.5 ONLY
You need FSD OFF
You need “BlendShapes” ON in Preferences > Animation

I am working on kit 107 now

To choose that “Kit base Editior” - what should i select here ?

Or is this selection something I should do on the installation of Kit 106 ?

You can use either Kit Base Editor or your normal USD Composer 106.5. You just need FSD off and “BlendShapes” on in Animation.

This is the solution.

I launched my Kit 106 with repo.bat launch -d

I deactivated the FSD OFF
I checked that was “BlendShapes” ON in Preferences > Animation

I have there also a physic sim of warehouse falling boxes behind him!

The character is heavy since its 4K textures and highest possible sub-D geometry all all body parts, hair and clothes.

Now I have to play a bit with the settings, the Path Tracing look much better.. But in the end that is the way to render since at least now it supports movie capture. Anyways this was a huge relief :D
