Hello there,
I’m fairly new to Omniverse and USD stuff and hope I’m at the right place.
The setting is the following:
I have two different environments, which need to be faded into each other via animation, instead of turned on/off via layers.
So my question is simply: How would one tackle this?
I saw there are at least for the materials of each 3D-object opacity settings, but it seems you can’t animate them as it states “no suitable xformable attributes to author keys”.
Moreover if we’d had for example 2 HDRIs in said environments, is there a way to morph/blend those, too?
I hope I’m at the right place here, thank you for your suggestions.
I would strongly suggest you do this all in post, meaning just render both scenes separately and then blend them together in After Effects or similar post tools. It would be very easy to do this way, versus very difficult to do in 3D.
The only other way you could achieve something fairly easy in USD Composer or Isaac Sim, is to have 2 HDRIs, each attached to its own dome light, and then animate the light powers to “cross-fade”. So HDRI A’s light power is animated to fade down from 1.0 to 0, and at the same time HDRI B’s light is ramped up from 0 to 1.0. This may work well enough to be convincing.
