GT 1030 Linux X86_64 driver issues

I installed NVIDIA driver version 390.59 for GT 1030 graphics card on my Ubuntu 16.04 kernel version 4.15.0-24. I had a login screen loop problem that I have fixed by reinstalling the driver again and again every time (I got the idea from Ask Ubuntu forums).

I updated the driver with version 390.67, but this time I got a double problem: I lost the kernel built-in Ethernet driver r8169 after every suspend/resume cycle that I replaced by a proprietary driver r8168-dkms, and the system reboots rather than hibernates when I resume after suspend.

I was forced to return back to version 390.59 but with Ethernet driver r8168-dkms.

Any explanation or help are welcomed.

How did you install the driver? The recommended way is to use the graphics ppa:
https://launchpad.net/~graphics-drivers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa
The .run installer might have unwanted sideeffects.
Did you disable the intergrated intel gpu in case your system has one?
Please run nvidia-bug-report.sh as root and attach the resulting .gz file to your post. Hovering the mouse over an existing post will reveal a paperclip icon.

I did not use ppa. I have just executed .run file downloaded from nvidia site.

That log doesn’t include the error. Can you return to the problematic setup and after provoking the issue run
sudo cat /var/log/kern.log |grep “Jul 17” >dmesg.txt
and attach that?
Replace “Jul 17” with the date you’re running it.

I did not have problems in installing the driver.
My problem is when the system is suspended. Instead of resuming from the last machine status, it reboots.
