How can I set data logging on the standalone apps?

Hi, I’m trying to data logging to reproduce my own simulation, which is launched by standalone example. however, the only thing I found is extension-based data logger.

What is the best way for the data logging on the standalone apps? Would anyone provide some pieces of the data logging code?
