And also i have referred on internet that mellanox switches doesn’t support stacking to achieve this we need to configure Mlag. Also if we configure MLAG then i need to configure LACP for the nutanix servers so how it will work
Mellanox does not support switch stacking, but as you had seen does support a feature called MLAG.
This allows both switches to act a single network logical unit, but still requires each switch to be configured and maintained separately.
For more information, please refer to the following:
- Onyx User Manual section “5.8 MLAG”:
- Mellanox community guide below:
https://community.mellanox.com/s/article/how-to-configure-mlag-on-mellanox-switches
On the community guide there is a section called "Server Configuration" take a look for other bonding option then LACP.
Also, googling for Nutanix and Mellanox i came up with this guide:
http://www.mellanox.com/related-docs/solutions/SN-2063-Mellanox-Networking.pdf
thanks for your update i have configured successfully mlag on mellanox switches now i want little guidance as i need to connect server to switches as in server teaming is configured so i need to configure lacp and lacp ports in vlan please do help here
Hi Faruk,
The guide below has an example on how to configure bonding on the host:
https://community.mellanox.com/s/article/how-to-configure-mlag-on-mellanox-switches
And this one how to configure LACP teaming:
http://prolinuxhub.com/how-to-configure-interface-teaming-with-lacp-using-centos-7-and-redhat-7/
To put any interface on Mellanox switches part of a vlan you can see section “5.5 VLANs” of the user manual:
