Issue with SDK Manager Installation Path and Root Partition Space

Situation:

I attempted to install the NVIDIA SDK Manager to proceed with my master thesis work for Jetson AGX Orin. During the installation process, I specified custom paths for the download and target hardware image folders, ensuring they were within my own directories.

Problem:

Despite selecting these custom paths, the SDK Manager seems to be using space in the root partition . As a result, I am running into disk space issues, and the system is indicating that I need an additional 430 MB of space in the root partition to complete the installation, nad my IT tells me" Try to move your work in /home partition, user apps/files should be stored/installed under his own /home directory,
root partition should only be used for Operating system" Is it possible ?

Observation:

It appears that some components of the SDK Manager or the installation process still default to using the root partition for certain operations, even when custom paths are specified. Is it true ?

It’s only the path where packages are downloaded&saved are changed.
If you also check the checkbox for installing host packages, then of course they are still installed in the root partition.

Uncheck the checkbox of Host Machine.
