Jetson AGX Orin not showing in serial connection

Jetson AGX Orin not showing in serial connection after update and boot with screen blank after nvidia screen.
What I did:
flashed jetpack using SDK manager. (failed with flash jetpack step but installed other things).
then using serial connection installed jetpack with commands shown in startup guide:

sudo apt update
sudo apt dist-upgrade
sudo reboot
sudo apt install nvidia-jetpack

after the reboot cannot use serial connection and display shows nvidia logo then turns off. (orin fan also turns off after some seconds).

On Orin developer kit, uart log is output through the micro-B port. Please check if you can connect to a host PC and see the log. If not, suggest you re-flash the system through SDKManager.

Can I also flash os using type b port? I will try the uart log now.

No, the micro B port is for uart log only. The port for flashing system image is type-C port(J40)

Still the type c connector not showing anything in dmesg

Do you re-flash the Orin developer kit through SDKManager? We now have 5.0.1 DP.

@DaneLLL after flashing once and doing apt update the device is not showing in usb c. (that means both serial connection and SDK manager).

Hi,
You can press force-recovery button and keep it being pressed. And press reset button to enter recovery mode. Once the device is in recovery mode,you can re-flash it through SDKManager.

@DaneLLL tried changing usb type c cables but still nothing.
can I flash using usb 2.0 or 3.0/3.2 slot of orin or some other way, cause usb c slot connection is not appearing in host pc.
when I do lsusb with type b port:
Bus 003 Device 007: ID 0955:7045 NVidia Corp.
but nothing when type c port.

Please follow the steps and see if you can re-flash Orin successfully:

  1. Connect Orin developer kit to a host PC(Ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04) through type-C to type-A adapter
  2. Press force-recovery and reset button to let Orin enter recovery mode
  3. Run SDKManager on the host PC. It should detect the Orin developer kit automatically
  4. Follow the steps in SDKManager to flash system image

@DaneLLL I followed the steps but the SDKManager is not detecting orin.
is it possible that the type c port is broken? Is there any way check if it’s working or not?

Follow below steps:

$ cd Linux_for_Tegra/rootfs/
$ sudo tar xpf ../../${SAMPLE_FS_PACKAGE}
$ cd ..
$ sudo ./apply_binaries.sh

Do you have other jetson devices that can validate whether your host really can flash or not?
