Jetson AGX Xavier Showing only blank screen when powered on with JP 4.6

I have successfully flashed the os and restared the board.
The board is not starting since, no logo/boot.
But able to flash os in recovery mood but the board is not starting to boot.

Lack of video is not a reliable method of knowing the system did not boot. What you’d want is the serial console boot log (uses the micro-B USB cable and the host PC runs a serial console program, e.g., minicom…there should be some documents on serial console available). This would tell you if it is just a video issue, or if the unit truly did not boot. You might also want to mention if the monitor is truly pure HDMI, or if any adapters are involved.

hello shravan.anand007,

may I know the SKU of your Jetson AGX Xavier, and, which JetPack release you’re used.
you should use the NVIDIA SDK Manager | NVIDIA Developer to setup the environment, installing JetPack release image to your local host and flashing the target.
in addition,
there’s port J501 on Jetson AGX Xavier DevKit to access the serial console, you should use the serial port utility to fetch the bootloader messages to check the details.
thanks

Hi jerry, linuxdev,
The part number is 945-82972-0047-000, serial no: 1421621044344
I am using the NVIDIA SDK Manager 1.7.0.8846 on virtualbox with ubuntu 18,
The monitor is pure HDMI and it was working properly initially. This issue has started after i flashed the jetpack 4.6 (rev.2).

This is the serial log as you requested:

hello shravan.anand007,

there’s failure to boot kernel, may I know what’s the modification you’ve done.
have you revise the image or this could reproduce with the native JP-4.6 release image?

Hi Jerry,
I have not done any modification, it is the native image and the issue repeates even after multiple flashes.
I dual booted my host system to ubuntu, and flashed the board with with JP 4.5.1 and i am able to boot now.
I am not sure weather the issue was with virtualbox/sdk manager/JP 4.6.

Can you edit your post with the serial console log? Use the “pencil” icon. Then add formatting and scrollbars to the log by placing a line with only three backquotes before and after the log. Will look like this:
```
(the same key as the tilde key in the upper left)
Or you could highlight the log and click the “code” icon (looks like “</>”).
Note that VMs are not officially supported. It doesn’t mean they can’t work, but configuring them correctly for USB passthrough is something you’d have to take up with the VM docs or help. What often happens is that USB disconnects and reconnects during the flash, and the VM does not pick up the reconnect. Don’t know if that is related, but if the flash completed and the flash logs show it flashed without error, then the VM would be unrelated to the problem.
Note that much of the fail logs are about not finding fundamental parts of the files which would have been flashed in to the Jetson. Such might fail if the USB failed during the flash at that point, or if for some reason host or device lacked storage space.
Your best bet would be to add dual boot to your system to add Ubuntu 18.04, or else to find a system with native Ubuntu on it. Barring that, then I’d suggest command line flash as a test from the VM (you can always use JetPack/SDK Manager again at a later date, but tell it to install packages while unchecking flash so it doesn’t reflash…command line is only for flash, not optional packages). Example with the Jetson in recovery mode and showing up on the host with lsusb, run from the “Linux_for_Tegra/” directory of the flash software:
sudo ./flash.sh jetson-xavier mmcblk0p1
