Jetson Nano Carrier Board USB Hub

Hello everyone,
I have a couple of Jetson Nano dev kits that I think the USB Hub IC (RTS511S) is faulty. I can order the ICs and replace them. However, I can see in the kit’s schematics that the Hub is configured using a tool from Realtek, so even if I replaced it, it wouldn’t work. Is there any solution to this?
Thank you

Realtek won’t talk to you unless you order at least 100k of parts. They even don’t give you datasheets. When talking to a wall you would get at least an echo. Talking to Realtek only yields complete silence. Forget it. Sorry.

A possible solution would be to desolder the hub chip and bridge the upstream port with very short wires to one of the downstream ports. You would need to enable power on that port as well. Then you could connect an external hub to that one working port. This operation requires very good solder skills, a microscope, hot air station and other equipment most people don’t have at home.

The other option is throwing away the defective Devkit carrier while keeping the Nano module itself and buying a 3rd party carrier board from Connecttech, Seeed etc for the Nano module to go onto.

Thank you for your answer,
I know about Realtek, a real pain working with their ICs, no support and no documentation whatsoever, if you’re lucky you’ll find a leaked first release of the datasheet that is missing information.
Anyway, I thought about this workaround, I have the tools and experience to do it but I wanted to do it right so I was hoping maybe Nvidia had some kind of tool to do the job. But apparently not.
As for buying a carrier board, all the boards I found were at a comparable price to the whole kit, so it didn’t seem economical to buy one. If you know about any carrier boards that come with an affordable price, please show me an example.
Thank you

maybe one of these

There are some companies developing processor modules with Rockchip chips and Jetson Nano/NX compatible pinout and form factor. Compatibliity should go both ways, and maybe their carrier boards are more affordable.
