I’m working on Jetson Orin NX 8GB SoM under Jetson Orin Nano developer kit. The storage is external USB storage. Yesterday, I tried to re-flash the device using SDK manager, in the step where the device is trying to reboot, the re-flashing failed. Then I manage to do the flashing again, but I’m unable to make the device to “force recovery mode” anymore. Even if I short the pin 9 and pin 10, or with the jumper on, I still cannot get force recovery mode.
The device boots up with “Start HTTP Boot over IPv4”, then fall into UEFI Shell. In host Ubuntu PC, the USB from Jetson cannot be detected, so I cannot access to the serial port console as well. I shorted pin 9 and pin 10, the device is not working, and also I shorted pin 7 and pin 8 the device is still no responding. Does it mean my Jetson is damaged? Can anyone give suggest what I should do to save the device? Thanks a lot.
Yes, I tried. My sequence is: unplug the power cable, unplug the jumper and plugin the jumper, connect USB-C cable to host PC, then plug the power cable. The host is unable to detect the Jetson device, and the Jetson side, green NV logo is showing on with “Start HTTP Boot over IPv4…” → timeout → Start PXE over IPv6 → No Valid offer receceived → Start PXE over IPv4 → NBP file downloaded successfully → Start HTTP Boot over IPv6 → Shell.
Then maybe you need to consider RMA the device.
Recovery mode is controlled purely by hardware, so if it it’s now working then it’s likely the module is broken.
Understood, then I have another concern. Originally, I purchased the Jetson Orin NX 8GB SoM and Jetson Orin Nano dev kit, then I replace the Nano SoM with the NX SoM. For the RMA, which device should I return? Can I return only the Nano carrier board + NX SoM, or return everything? Thanks
