I need to characterize the LPDDR5 memory on the Jetson Thor dev kit by probing the electrical signals with a BGA interposer. The standard heat pipe and thermal solution is blocking the physical memory access (by design).
Is there an alternative heat sink solution that can work with the GPU while still allowing for physical access of the LPDDR5 memory devices?
Any reason you need to do the LPDDR5 characterization? LPDDR5 on the module is characterized already at our end and you should not need to repeat this exercise. You could stress the memory if needed using tools in operating system or applications at the system level. We do not have any other recommendation for heatsink in this case.
Thanks for the help with this. I understand the memory characterization is already done.
In fact, I’ve already run the memtester utility on the system itself, no issues there. I need to create a known good setup for future prototypes so other teams I work with can know how the characterization or debug is done. This is simply about having a golden reference for general memory electrical and timing tests.
