BTW, you’re not the first one showing up with that problem, indeed some Ubuntu update broke things but the root cause is yet unknown. If possible, share the snippet of /var/log/dpkg.log from the time you last installed updates.

Yeah this issue certainly seems cutting edge after I exhausted my googling. I’ve attached the snipped from the log file that relates to the system update yesterday when the desktop was working. I hope it means more to you than it does to me! Thanks 15-03-21-update.log (8.6 KB)

According to the dpkg log, only the kernel was updated. Can you boot into an ealier kernel in grub menu?

Hi,

There is an issue with Display port on driver 460.80 and higher.
Only solution is either to downgrade drivers to 460.73 or connect screens with HDMI/DVI .

Issue is being investigated by Nvidia : 465.24.02 page fault - #74 by todd.freed
