Issue Description
Hello, I am trying to establish Chip to Chip communication between 2 Orins as described here. I have also referred to this thread and followed most of the instructions that were presented there. This includes:

  1. Binding partitions
  2. Upgrading PCIe re-timer.
  3. Checking PCIe connection on same/different machines.

Right now, I think that the Mini-SAS cable that was used for my experiments is wrong. I have also contacted our local sales person at Amphenol and they say the don’t have the cables with part numbers outlined in this thread. Either Amphenol stopped producing those cables or they got renamed to a different part number.

My question is: Can you provide me with a part number of a distributor (any distributor, preferably doing business in the Bay Area, U.S.) that produce the Mini-SAS cable which is capable of connecting 2 Orins and establish Chip to Chip communication?

Some options that I am looking into are:

  1. Amazon (this is the cable that was used for the experiments)
  2. Amphenol

Thank you!

Did you check for the Amphenol cables mentioned in PCIe Hot-Plug not working - #24 by VickNV

Hi Siva,

I did and I actually asked my local Amphenol sales rep for those. She said they don’t have anything with that part number anymore. Please advise on where I can obtain a Mini-SAS cable that is up to standard! Thanks!

Dear @extern.ray.xie ,
Could you please check my private message. I have shared amphenol contact.
there is no alternative for these cables and the standard mini SAS cables will not work. Only the part numbers shared in the QSG are approved for use with the Devkit

For anyone in the U.S. who is looking to purchase the Mini-SAS cables, I have purchased it through Amphenol Cables on Demand. You would have to email customer service for the cables but they also mentioned to put them on the website sometime later. They have the 0.5 and 1 meter versions in stock. Please email them for quotes. I was able to get them the second day with overnight express.
