Nano Devkit Power supply via GPIO

Hi there,
I would like to power my Nano Devkit over the GPIO. How should I go about this?
Since the GPIO pins on the dev kit both take 3 Amps, how should I protect them against overcurrent? Is it fine to just connect 5 volts to both of the 5V pins, short them together, and let their their resistances do the current balancing? Or do I need to build in some custom fuses and protection?

Thanks!

The real current depends on use case. The 5V network of pin2&4 of J41 is same network of DC power. No need to concern overcurrent problem.
