Nsight, choosing between Eclipse and Visual Studio Code Edition

Are the Eclipse and VSC Nsight editions functionally the same?
Will they be developed in parallel or can we expect that one of them will take the lead in functionality?

Important for us, we need to decide on IDEs for our further CUDA development under Linux.

Here is current support situation FYI, VS Code has fewer features presently, but it’s a more popular IDE. We plan to add features to VS Code going forward, while just maintaining functionality in Eclipse.

VSC supports make as well as cmake.
Does Nsight work well with both build methods? Any recommendations?

Nsight itself only provide debugger function.
If you need to build with cmake, you can specify your own build command in task.json
