I see multiple users siting that their usual login credentials do not work all of a sudden.
I guess it’s my turn now.
I’ve written down my login credentials so I wouldn’t forget them and sure enough, I cannot log into the Nulceus server all of a sudden.
Now I have current projects that I cannot access.
Why on earth is it so hard for you to simply have a FORGOT PASSWORD link in the interface. Why would only have an “open new account” option.
I’ve been at this now for hours trying to get into my files and the login keeps failing.
I followed one persons advice and opened a new account as according to them I can access my files from a new account. Nope.
I have no idea what I am doing wrong, and frankly, the documentation is not helping at all.
Can someone just tell me how the @#%% I can get back into my Nucleus account?
Thank you.
AndrewL
Moving this topic to the Nucleus forum.
@andrew166 , this is the first we’ve heard of Nucleus losing passwords.
A few things here please.
What Nucleus version are you using?
How do you have it deployed and to where?
What changed since the passwords “stopped working”
Considering you have the create account option, I’m assuming you do not have SSO integrated into your Nucleus server, that means, for you to reset passwords, the Nucleus admin needs to share a link to the users. This can be found in the admin->user management panel. Select the user and click the RESET PASSWORD button, this will create a link that is sharable with the user to create a new password.
Yes, and I already commented on the same problem on another thread that you made. Did you try using admin and admin?
thank you for the reply.
I’m using the current version
I am a single user so I’ve installed Omniverse on my personal work station.
I recently moved my APPDATA location to another drive, but that was weeks ago and I’ve been having no issues until now.
No SSO.
Unfortunately I created another localhost and I’m hoping i’ve not ruined my chances of accessing the one I need. I know just enough to be dangerous obviously.
The screenshot you sent does not look like what I’m seeing.
I am unable to check admin for some reason.
I’m the only user so I am the administrator.
No idea what I’ve done.
I very much appreciate your attention to my post.

So, Launcher controls where all this gets deployed. If you’ve moved your APPDATA to another drive, Launcher doesn’t know that.
The Launcher settings tell the applications where to install, and the DATA_PATH tells Nucleus where it should use the storage
Essentially, you’ve wiped your Nucleus clean and started fresh by moving your data.
If you still have your old Nucleus data directory, you can shutdown all the Nucleus services within System Monitor, change the DATA_PATH in Launcher, then I would recommend restarting your computer.
This will hopefully set you back in the same state you were prior to moving your APPDATA, however, if you’ve made modifications or deleted directories within your old DATA_PATH content, you may not be able to restore the state.
This makes sense as I remapped the APPDATA routes to another drive.
However, I have been working successfully with the newly mapped APPDATA location.
I still have the original APPDATA “data” on my C drive.
I moved it because the ov folder is currently over 600GB. It takes too much space on the C drive. (That’s another issue I can’t seem to get a hold on)
I’ll remap back to the original APPDATA folder and see if that reconnects me
I’ll let you know if this is successful.
Thanks,
Andrew
Also, please take a look at our docs for user management
Authentication and User Management — Omniverse Nucleus latest documentation (nvidia.com)
Your disk usage may be from cache build up. Please take a look at these docs as well
Cache on Workstation — Omniverse Utilities latest documentation (nvidia.com)
I’ll certainly study it so I do not run into any issues moving forward.
Thanks,
AndrewL
Wow. I cannot thank you enough.
I remapped to the original APPDATA folder and I’m back in business.
Question: Can I move my ov folder from my current APPDATA folder to a new “dedicated ov-APPDATA” folder on another drive.
So basically, I would create a new empty folder on another drive and call it APPDATA.
Then copy the ov folder from the APPDATA folder on my C drive, and paste it into the new APPDATA folder on the other drive.
Then I would remap the library, Data and Download routes to the new APPDATA folder.
Would that be the way to do it?
AndrewL
Yes, but you will need to make sure you repath your launcher settings to those directories as well. Also, in System Monitor your cache directory can be set to a new path as well.
90% of your OV folder is probably due to your “texture cache”. This can be easily wiped and it will rebuilt. To access it go to your main OV folder and find the “Cache” folder. Inside there is the “texturecache” folder. Delete that.
My long-term advice is to keep your texture cache low by clearing it out regularly. Secondly, I would migrate your files out of your Nucleus and at least back them up regularly. The best way to do this is to simply “collect them” out of your Nucleus localhost folder and store them separately somewhere else that gets backed up. To “collect” them use "File > “Collect” from the main menu. It will make a brand new totally separate folder with all the resources you need all in there locally.
Excellent. Thank you for the assistance.
cheers,
AndrewL
Thank you Richard.
I’ll do that.

AndrewL
