Can the Orin NX 16 GB run on 5 Volts? Or does it need 8 V minimum? If its voltage is 5 V will the 40 W mode work (consume 40 W?)? Not the MAXN, but just the 40 W mode.
Given the 5A maximum VDD_IN Imax in the Jetson Orin NX Series Modules Data Sheet, the maximum power with VDD_IN at 5V would be ~25W. That 5A max current with the 40W for MAXN_SUPER determines the minimum required VDD_IN of 8V.
MAXN_SUPER is the only 40W mode. Prior to supporting MAXN_SUPER mode, the Orin NX 16GB’s MAXN was 25W and the 8GB’s was 20W.
Thanks for the information. Looks like our platform is a Orin NX 16 GB Super. I was looking at the online Nvida Jetson tools power estimator, and there both 40 W & MAXN_SUPER as options in the drop-down menu. Do your statements still hold? If so, then why are there 2 modes; 40 W and MAXN_SUPER?
The statement still holds for the 5V VDD IN. 40W is not possible with a 5V input.
