I just got this card last week and installed it on my system. I’m running Ubuntu 24.04.1 with the 6.8.0-52 kernel. My system has an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X with 64 GB RAM. I’m running the 550.144.03 drivers. The BIOS version on my card is 95.04.5C.00.21.
I am having lots of stability and performance issues. The 535 drivers are stable, but running LLMa with ollama on the 535 drivers is very slow.
Ollama performance with the 550 drivers is significantly better, but stability and performance, especially with multimedia, is worse. Playing video in a browser is not good, for instance.
Performance on the bad end is worse than my old Quadro P4000. I have tried turning off all extensions in gnome, I have tried all available drivers from 535 to 570. Anything beyond 550 is unstable and performs badly on graphics.
I read on the release notes for 570 that I might need to upgrade my GPU BIOS, I’m wondering if I should take that step. Any other suggestions to get this thing running better is appreciated.
