Sdkm crash fatal error

im new to sdkm , jetson and linux so please bare with me.
im running fresh install ubuntu 22.04 and trying to run sdkm to connect to Xavier AGX devkit.
i get this error:] The display compositor is frequently crashing. Goodbye.

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
sudo rm -rf ~/.nvsdkm
sudo rm /tmp/sdkmanager.sock

but probably run it wrong…

any advice?
thank you all

i am running into the same thing, but think that our host system is to new.
We both are running 22.04 yet the sdk site states :
Host OS Ubuntu 16.04, 18.04 and 20.04 on x86_64 system

Same Issue here too.
My issue is happening on a fresh Ubuntu 22.04 LTS install running through vmware.
Afer a sucsessfull install of “sdkmanager_1.8.0-10363_amd64.deb”

The error I got when I tried to run the program by entering “sdkmanager”: “[4308:0621/] The display compositor is frequently crashing. Goodbye.”

My system specs as listed in Ubuntu–>settings–>about (idk if that helps much ima-noob with linux):
Hardware Model: VMware, Inc. VMware Virtual Platform
CPU: AMD® Ryzen 5 3600x 6-core processor × 4
Graphics: SVGA3D; build: RELEASE; LLVM;
GNOME Version: 42.0
OS: Wayland

after a clean install of ubuntu 18.04 it worked like a charm, upgraded ubuntu to 20.04 and still works.

Wow OK great! Thanks for the update!
