Playing Quake on the 525 drivers (Wayland) is fine, everything performs as expected on my GTX 1080Ti, but when I update to 535.129.02 (which has “better” support for Wayland) everything quickly goes south in Quake, I have not yet noticed this in other games.
When 535 first came out there were some texture loading problems with Minecraft, but now they seem to be fixed.
I have tried 545 and it looks like the same issue is present on it plus the flickering.
Quake Champions launch options on Steam: gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command% (recommended on ProtonDB.
I have friends who run the game on Turing (X11) rather than Pascal and everything seems to be fine for them. Is this a Pascal issue? I have not tested it on Windows, but I can be sure that the issue is not there when playing the game on a Maxwell 980Ti in Windows.
Thanks!
