The system randomly fails to exit properly after a reboot

I am currently using Jetpack 7.1(r38.4) on a Thor custom board. I have observed that during repeated AB-partition switching tests, the system sometimes fails to exit properly when performing a reboot. Could you help analyze this issue? Additionally, I noticed that similar issues have been reported previously on other platforms such as NX and Orin. I would like to ask if there are any existing patches available to address this problem.

I switch the active boot slot using nvbootctrl set-active-boot-slot 0/1 and then reboot. I’m trying to perform tests by just repeatedly rebooting, and personally, it seems reproducible. I’ll update you with any news.

We are able to reproduce this issue during multiple power cycles and slot switch reboots.

Steps are as follows:

  1. Switch the slot to B

  2. Reboot

  3. Disconnect the power

  4. Reconnect the power

  5. Switch the slot

  6. Reboot

just wondering the timing of your step-3. when did you disconnect the power-supply?
for instance, is it around bootloader at MB1/MB2 or UEFI stage?
