Hello kind people! I’m trying to download the Omniverse SDK kit, yet it seems that I’m unable to, sadly. Whenever I find the right page, and go to “File browser” tab, it says the license is required. Upon clicking “learn more”, it shows a dialog, saying “Join or subscribe” and provides a brief summary of the two options. Naturally I select “Get access” in the “Nvidia developer Account” subsection. Then it tells me the access was granted and displays a download button. After clicking that, the small window appears, saying the files are being prepared, yet the loading never finishes and the window disappears after about two minutes of doing nothing (well, apart from loading one of my processors’ cores to 100% and spinning up the fans like crazy).
I have read a couple of help posts here and I can assure you, switching page language does nothing. One of the posts was hinting too many dots in the email address (2 in my case), but I can do nothing about it.
It’s as if something can’t recognize I do have the Developer account.
So far I’ve tried to download files on Ubuntu 24 and Windows 11. Tried various browsers - edge, ddg, firefox. Switched back and forth between the personal and university network, which led to absolutely no changes.
After testing this myself, I can report that for some reason, yes, there is a huge delay between it saying Preparing Downloads and actually starting the downloads. And what is bad is that the dialogue box disappears like it has failed. But then about 3 mins later… BINGO. I get the download starting. So that needs to be looked at.
Can you try again, and be patient, and it may just start a few minutes after the dialogue box disappears. Mine took exactly 90 seconds from the time the dialogue box disappeared to the start of the download. Not sure why. We will get it fixed.
Nope, I don’t use any VPNs or proxies. I’m located in Poland.
Regarding the “Download” button - mine doesn’t have any options (no arrow to expand). Upon clicking it, it always shows “Join or Subscribe to get access” dialog , no matter how many times I select the “NVIDIA Developer Account” option.
I’ve been testing for several hours now, letting it “think” for 30-60 mins after each download attempt. No luck with that. Furthest I’ve gotten was seeing “1 of 2 files completed” for a split second before the window disappeared. Again, nothing happened after that (and a long wait of course)
Ok, well if you are not even getting the download option, then no, it will not work at all. You are seeing where you need to log in? And then you are logging in successfully? Once you have logged in, you should see your log in details and account in the top right corner. If you do not, then download will not be possible.
Logging in works flawlessly, I forgot to mention that all the problems I described here occur whlist I’m logged in to my account. I do see the details in the upper right corner, yes
I have tried all the combinations - windows version on windows, windows version on ubuntu, etc. The behaviour is exactly the same. I did try to download the Air Gap instances next, both linux and windows versions downloaded without an issue.
What might be worth noting, is that I’m not able to see the “Version History”, “File Browser” and “Release Notes” tabs whether I’m logged in or not. It always tells me that I need an active subscription for that
Edit: I had an ongoing download running on the other tab and the Windows version has randomly downloaded just after I hit the reply button. Too bad I need the linux version. Still, it seems like we’re getting somewhere
Well for now I could just download for you and send it to you. Is this on different machines? It might be your network. Are you at home? Work? Can you take a laptop to a new network? What browser are you using? Hopefully not FireFox. We do not support anything FireFox. Everything we do REQUIRES a Chromium browser
