Downloading Omniverse standard does not start

Hi!

Could you please tell me whether you encountered something like this?

I’ve tried several times to download the omniverse launcher standard from the following URL,

which has been introduced in the document of isaac sim.
https://docs.omniverse.nvidia.com/isaacsim/latest/installation/install_workstation.html

However, the download does not start due to “Something went wrong during submission.”
This is the screenshot.
Google Photos

All of the following environments failed.

  1. Windows 10 (64-bit), Google Chrome
  2. Windows 10 (64-bit), Microsoft Edge
  3. Ubuntu 20.04 (64-bit), Mozilla Firefox

I checked several posts relevant to download failure, but

the posts seems a bit different from my case…
Please let me know if my post lacks necessary information.

Thank you!

@nakashima_nvidia out of curiosity - where are you based?

@Simplychenable
Thank you for the reply. I am a researcher of The University of Tokyo, JAPAN.

supplementary:
Both of the following URLs (English / Japanese) shows the same response.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help.
Then, I would try different situation (E. g. network, location), if possible.

P. S.
Setting the location and the languate as US did not solve the issue…

I am not sure why you cannot download the omniverse installer. You say you are located in Japan. That should be fine. Are you on a corporate network with a strong firewall ? It says you are trying at the University of Tokyo ?? That sounds like you need to contact your univesity IT dept and get permission to download. If your IT computers are that locked down already, where you cannot even download the exe installer you will not be able to use Omniverse Launcher, because everything will be blocked.

If this is your own personal machine, please try another strong internet connection. If you can download on another machine, you can just transfer the exe installer to your first machine. Please let me know.

Hi

France here and same problem : it is just impossible to download the Omniverse Launcher… Any suggestion ? I tried :

  • From a gcloud instance in netherlands with firefox / ubuntu
  • From a local computer in france with chrome/windows

Nothing works.

Hi UK here, we are having the same issue. A couple of our devs want to evaluate Omniverse to see if it fits in our pipeline but no one is able to download the launcher. Have tried multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Edge) as well as different networks/laptops/PC’s, On and Off VPN’s, hotspotting from phones and nothing. We have recieved the “Thank you for downloading Omniverse” email so that part of the web form is working but no download link ever shows up.

Different company but similar issue, we dont even get the red “Something went wrong” error. Does its submitting animation and then just sits there. Its not our firewall or AV, and its agnostic of work or personal machines on any platform or browser it seems. And given that this was also posted in the discord it seems to be a systemic issue.

Ok let me find out what is happening. So there are (3) issues ??

  1. Some people are not getting an email
  2. some people get an email but there is no link in it
  3. Some people have the email and the link but it does not download

Is that correct ? Can you all tell me which one are you ?

I was the only one of 4 people at my company that got anything and it was just the “Thank you for downloading Omniverse” with links to the samples, tutorials and documentation. No way of getting the launcher download. The other three got nothing, and I checked our email and Anti Virus filters and nothing got caught up in those either. I cant speak to the others in this thread.

Everything in the documentation that links to the Launcher just goes to the same form.

We are looking into this straight away. Sorry for the inconvinience.

@Richard3D Thank you so much for the investigation. I wonder if my reply does not make confusion. Sorry for the late response. My case would be " 1. Some people are not getting an email" in your post.

It says you are trying at the University of Tokyo ??

Yes, I tried connection via several networks of the university. I woudl try the connection from another network.
Thank you again.

it’s been reported on Discord that the issue has been fixed, so may be it’s worth trying again

Yes if you could try again and let me know

Dear @Richard3D , unfortunately, trials from other network conditions and machines made the same message “Something went wrong during submission.”

In detail, after the following post

it’s been reported on Discord that the issue has been fixed, so may be it’s worth trying again

(Actually, I have not checked the original Discord message yet)
I tried downloading from home PC in my home network. The followings failed.

Windows 7, Google Chrome, Microsoft Defender (OFF)
Windows 7, Google Chrome, Microsoft Defender (ON)
Ubuntu 16.04, Mozilla Firefox

In summary, (university PC - unversity network) and (home PC - home network) combinations both failed.
Please let me know if my post lacks any necessary information or prerequisites.

Thank you.

Ok so in your case, you are not waiting for an email. You are literally unable to get the form to work, correct ? I wonder if it is something to do with being in Japan, or are you using any special characters in the form that may be breaking the actual code of the html form. I will ask and see if we can get you some special help.

Can you private message me your complete contact details and I will have someone reach out to you.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes.

OK. I would send private message with the full information.

Hi! Thanks to @Richard3D 's suggestion, I was able to download from the environments (home PC - home network) and (university PC - university network).

In my case, the main problem was my e-mail address with the long domain and many dot(.)s.
failed: {my name without any dots}@ooo.ooo.ooo.ooo.oo
succeeded: {my name without any dots}@ooo.oo

I hope the knowledge helps you.
Currently, several problems are reported in this topic, so
I would keep this topic open.
If the topic remains unchanged, I would close the topic in the next Monday, if possible*.

Thank you so much!

*I guess this forum’s topic can be edited like GitHub issue.
