Hi,
I use Linux platform with 4070.
I want to change the timing for display, however, it seems that the vblank/hblank is limited to 250 or a little above, as the timing set down can’t display well
Is there any limitation for the HDMI timing?

Hi again,
afaik, we can run pretty low blanking values, but many sinks do not display such well…
In general, its NOT that the GPU will force any settings, and the displays have capabilites to just properly sync to and display ANY given/enforced timing.
Its rather that the display vendor and electronics define the limits (and the ideal=preferred=native) mode of each display sink, and provide these values in the EDID data sent from display to GPU, so then GPU and OS select the desired mode=values for this very screen.
Deviating from EDID provided values will not ‘trouble’ the GPU, but will most likely start impacting the image quality of the display, because it no longer runs at its ideal clocks, and will hits its limits soon…
