Will MRU be settable in future?

With commit LKML: Greg Kroah-Hartman: [PATCH 4.19 21/42] net/mlx5e: RX, verify received packet size in Linear Striding RQ,
there is one limitation on ingress packets.
But now, the limitation is based on MTU. The MRU is not settable separately. That could cause compatible issue when do driver upgrade.
Will MRU be settable in future?
