AGX Xavier Power Supply Requirement? Can it be powered via the type-C connector?

Hello,

I have a Jetson AGX Xavier. But I have just the development board, I have borrowed it from a friend who did not have its power supply.

The AGX Xavier requires 9 to 20 volts via the J16 connector, right? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Does anyone know where I can buy a power supply in this range with this connector? Or if I can at least get this connector so that I can solder it on to a power supply in that range.

Also, another question, the AGX Xavier has so two Type-C ports. Can it be powered using those ports? If yes, what is their power requirement?

EDIT:
I have this power brick, will it work if the AGX Xavier can be powered via the type-C port?

It says:
PD Output: (5V 3A), (9V 3A), 12V 3A), (15V 3A), (20V 3.25A), 65W Max

Can this be used?

Kind regards,
Lolcocks.

Hi, hope someone has such experience can be shared. For accessory, maybe you can contact with the vendors in ecosystem (https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/ecosystem). Type C port supply is workable, you can refer to the devkit user guide for more info (https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/dlc/jetson_agx_xavier_developer_kit_user_guide). We have no suggestion on other option you listed, you can check it based on the requests as listed in Xavier module datasheet or Design Guide in DLC.

Uhhhh, thanks.

Is there any documentation regarding this? I keep reading that the AGX Xavier can be powered on using Type C Power Delivery but I am having a hard time finding out what voltage the AGX Xavier needs to turn on using the Type C port.

I don’t want to be in a situation where I plug in the Type C charger I have into the AGX Xavier Developer Kit and it blows up.

Also, there is the question, there are two Type C ports. Which one do I use to turn on the AGX Xavier Developer Kit?

Hi, have you read the user guide (https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/dlc/jetson_agx_xavier_developer_kit_user_guide)? There is such info in it for your reference.

“Either connector can be used to power the developer kit from USB Type-C power supplies listed in Jetson AGX Xavier Supported Component List.”

Thanks!

Looks like the supported Type-C adapters are:

  1. Apple 87W USB-C Power Adapter
    Output: (20.2V 4.3A USB PD), (9V 3A USB PD), (5.2V 2.4A)
  2. Apple 61W USB-C Power Adapter
    Output: (20.3V 3A USB PD), (9V 3A USB PD), (5.2V 2.4A)

The one I have is:
PD Output: (5V 3A), (9V 3A), 12V 3A), (15V 3A), (20V 3.25A), 65W Max

Which is very close to the Apple 61W USB-C Power Adapter so I guess it should work.

Thank you, @Trumany .
