All PGI software is license-managed. This program will walk you through the
steps required to download and install your license keys. An active Internet
connection is required. If you don’t have an Internet connection, please see
the PGI Installation Guide that came with your software for alternatives on
generating and installing license keys.

You will need to know the following information.

  • Does this computer access the Internet directly or through some sort of
    proxy connection?
  • If a proxy is used, you’ll need the address (URL) of the proxy server.
  • Does the proxy require authentication? If so, you’ll need to know the
    username and password.
  • To login to the PGI website to generate license keys, you need either a
PGI web account (username and password) or a PIN code from the PGI order
confirmation email message from PGI Sales.

If this computer is behind a firewall at your site, please make sure it can
access the Internet.

And then I type:

ifconfig

I got: HWaddr 00:19:B9:22:42:CB
But in the file of “license.info”, the FLEXnet hostid: 000000000000
I have used the “0019B92242CB” to generate a trial license, but it didn’t work, when type

pgf77 -V x.f

[root@localhost bin]# pgf77 -V x.f

pgi-f77-lin32: LICENSE MANAGER PROBLEM: Failed to checkout license

Hi qweszxcrtygb,

Since curl failed on your system, I’m assuming that you generated the trial license from your PGI User’s Account page on www.pgroup.com?

If so, then you most likely haven’t started up the license manager (lmgrd) or lmgrd failed to start for some reason. Full details on the entire installation process including starting the license manger can be found in the PGI Installation Guide (https://www.pgroup.com/doc/pgiinstall.pdf).

Hope this helps,
Mat
