Conveyor Belt Moving, but Object Not Following - Help Needed

Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a project in Isaac Sim where I’ve created a conveyor belt that runs perfectly. However, when I place a test object on it, the object doesn’t move at all, even though the belt is clearly in motion.

I’ve followed all the advice from similar forum posts, but nothing seems to solve the issue. For reference, I’m following the tutorial from this video: “Conveyor Belt in Isaac Sim” by XYZ.

What I’ve Tried:

  • Adjusted both the static and dynamic friction values for the conveyor belt and the object.
  • Ensured that both the conveyor belt and the object have appropriate physics materials assigned.
  • Double-checked that the physics engine is enabled, and that the object is not set to “kinematic.”
  • Increased the simulation rate to ensure better accuracy with physics interactions.

I’ve attached a video of the problem in action and screenshots of my physics configurations for both the belt and the test object. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I’m really stuck here and would love to hear any other ideas to try.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @avinaash.mani

Sorry for the delay, are you still experiencing this issue?
Great to see my videos are still being used but such a bummer you are having issues!
I know you said you adjusted the static and dynamic values but in your screenshot they are set to 0, can you send a screenshot with the values set to a value between 5.0 and 10.0?
Also, double-check that the ConveyorBelt’s Physics Material is attached to the Belt mesh, which is nested under the Belt Xform in your hierarchy.
We shouldn’t need to adjust any values on the Cube. Try creating a new cube and going to Add > Rigid Body with Colliders preset in the Property menu.
Let me know once you’ve tried these suggestions and the results!

Thank you for reverting back Ashley, I have fixed it, and the Conveyor system works well. Thank you
