Display(DP) showing black screen( no signal) after initial boot messages on Jetson Orin NX

Hi,

We have a problem on Jetson Orin NX which is placed on our customized carrier board.
We have flashed Jetpack version 6.0, linux for tegra version 36.3 on it.

We observe that after initial boot messages scrolling the DP goes off fully blank saying no signal on DP.

In the serial console, we see it boots fully till the root login prompt.Kindly let us know what may the reason for the DP to go blank after initial boot msgs display.

Please find the serial console error messages for the same attached.

**Note: **
Also on another setup( testjig setup, which has our own customized carrier board) we see the DP working normally. we have logged the serial console log for the working DP also for your reference.

Thanks,
Nagesh R

Is same monitor working with Orin NX devkit?

We don’t have Orin NX devkit.

But, The same monitor works fine on another testjig setup (which also has customised carrier board ).

What is the result of lsmod?

Do you want it on both DP working setup and DP not working setup also?

We have some queries for better understanding, it would be helpful as we have time constraints to debug this DP issue asap.

  1. The DP monitor is fine will it boots and some messages scrolls and just when the Nvidia logo screen is about to come finally, the DP goes off saying " no signal received … " some thing like this,
Does this mean the DP monitor is not receiving the signal from the unit?

  2. The DP lines work at 3.3V , any idea does the UEFI works at some other voltage levels as we can see the DP screen in UEFI/BIOS mode?

Thanks.

I see all the driver loaded there.

What is the result of xrandr and /var/log/Xorg.0.log for NG case? Please share it too.

We found the root cause for this DP issue.

It was basically an hardware issue, where they had missed to install two capacitor on the IOTB card on the DP.routing lines.

After adding these two capacitors, DP is working fine now.

This thread can be closed.

The similar hardware issue as yours also occurs with our products,
Can you show a circuit diagram for the location of the added two capacitors on the DP.routing lines?

Will check with our hardware team.
I doubt if they are ready to fully share the full diagram.

Solution from our HW team:

The issue was resolved after adding AC coupling capacitor(in series) of value 0.1 microfarad on Aux_N and Aux_P near the DP connector.
